Volunteer at Ronald McDonald House® Family Room: Ventura County Medical Center

Volunteers are an important part of the community at Ronald McDonald House® Family Room: Ventura County Medical Center. Whether you’re volunteering individually or bringing together coworkers, friends or a community group, there are meaningful ways to lend your time and support.

Volunteer Requirements

Because the Family Room is located inside Ventura County Medical Center, volunteers must complete the hospital’s required onboarding process.

Requirements include:

  • Tour prior to receiving volunteer application
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Volunteer application
  • TB test provided by Ventura County Medical Center
  • Current required vaccinations
  • Background check
  • Onboarding orientation

It’s important to maintain familiarity and confidence with the families we serve and our hospital partner, Ventura County Medical Center. In effort to maintain consistency, we require one, 4-hour shift per week for a minimum of 6 months.

Volunteer Beyond the Family Room

There are also opportunities to volunteer outside of the hospital through community activities and special events, including our annual Walk for Kids. These opportunities are a great way to get involved for those who aren’t able to commit to a regular weekly Family Room shift.

If you’re interested in Walk for Kids or other off-site volunteer opportunities, let us know!
