About Ronald McDonald House® Bakersfield
Ronald McDonald House® Bakersfield opened in 2009 with three bedrooms and one purpose: to help families with hospitalized children stay together and close to their child’s care.
As the need grew, so did the House. In 2019, it expanded to seven bedrooms, creating more space for families to stay, share meals, rest and find moments of normalcy together amidst a child’s medical journey. Today, the House offers families more than a place to sleep – it gives them the space and support needed to stay focused on their child.
Ronald McDonald House® Bakersfield also supports families local to Kern County who may not need an overnight stay, but still need support during long days at the hospital. With a nearby place to rest, shower, do laundry or recharge, we meet families where they need us.
