Since opening in 2022, Ronald McDonald House® Family Room: Ventura County Medical Center has provided families with a place to rest and care for themselves without leaving their child’s side. As the first Ronald McDonald House Family Room in the country created in partnership with a public county hospital and within the only pediatric hospital in Ventura County, the Family Room brings support directly onto the hospital floor, giving local Ventura County families a place of support while remaining just steps from their child’s care.

Today, families can share a meal, do laundry, catch up on work, spend time with siblings or simply find a quiet moment during a long hospital day. With meals and snacks, laundry facilities, everyday essentials, comfortable lounge and workspaces, a children’s play area and a separate Quiet Room with three private nap pods, the Family Room helps ease some of the practical and emotional burdens of a child’s hospitalization while keeping families close and together.
