Become the Heart Behind the House

Our families travel from all over the world to stay at our Ronald McDonald House Westside Los Angeles so their children can receive the specialized, lifesaving medical care they need and to have a home away from home. Once fully open, our House will grow from 11 guest rooms to 33, allowing us to welcome even more families whose children are receiving care at UCLA Children’s Hospital, Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children’s, and other West Los Angeles medical facilities.  

The need has been immediate and undeniable. Since temporarily opening our 11 guest rooms, the House has remained at 100% occupancy, with families staying an average of 134 nights while their children receive care at nearby hospitals with an endless waitlist. Each guestroom represents a family who does not have to face a long hospital journey alone, or worry about where they will sleep, eat, or find support.  

Through our Heart Behind the House campaign, we are working to complete our full vision: a 33-room House that will allow us to welcome more families and provide them with the comfort, stability, and support they need to remain close to their children. Our completed House will feature guest rooms and larger family suites, along with kitchens, dining and gathering spaces, play areas, outdoor terraces, and other thoughtfully designed spaces where families can rest, recharge, and be together.  

With your support, we can move forward with the renovation and create space for additional families when they need us most. Together, we can help ensure that every family has a safe, welcoming place to stay close to their child, offering comfort, connection, and support during an incredibly challenging time.
