“We were able to come and relax…It’s just a breather because when moms and dads are in the hospital, it’s a lot…To take a little break to come over to the Ronald McDonald House to take that, even if it is five minutes or even hour, to go back to her that helps for the next 23 hours to be with her. That hour is priceless.”

After being admitted, Violet continued to stay at RMHOC when she was receiving daily treatments. One of her favorite places was the sensory room, where she could step away from the hospital environment and enjoy the lights, colors, and everything she could play with. Violet and her family formed close connections with staff, volunteers and families staying at the House.

“Here at Ronald McDonald House, they are like family to us now,” Jessica says. “They have a place in our heart for sure – a big place.”

Ronald McDonald House continues to support families navigating childhood cancer, ensuring they never have to go through it alone.
